My experience is what I agree to attend to. Only those items which I notice shape my mind - without selective interest, experience is an utter chaos. Interest alone gives accent and emphasis, light and shade, background and foreground - intelligible perspective, in a word.

I managed not only to find and pay this beautiful and long sought for children’s art book at the museum’s store but also to sneak it home unseen by my nephew. Also I didn’t notice at the museum, but his favourite Franz Marc is one of the featured artists and on the page it says Mr. Marc was born and lived in the place the Austro-German (if you can say that) part of our family originally is from but also that one Mr. Marc’s other first names is the same as my nephew’s. (I knew about Munich, I didn’t know about the middle name.) He’s going to be so thrilled tomorrow.
